Academic Philosophy and Research Interests

Philosophy of Education: "Live, grow, and learn."  We learn by doing, by experiencing the world around us, by constantly building on our prior knowledge and experiences. My goal as an Early Childhood educator is to build on my own prior experiences in education, collaborate with others, and encourage positive change to create meaningful learning experiences for young children.

Research Interests: Multiage, brain-based learning, constructivist vs. traditional teaching methods in elementary schools and the impact the environment plays in engaging learners in the primary grades.
