Speech 2300 - Public Speaking
 
About the Course
This course is designed to offer students theory- and skills-based knowledge that will enhance their public speaking ability. Students will fulfill their ETSU General Education Communication Requirement by successfully completing this course.

I offer this class in the Fall and Spring of each school year.

Summary of Major Assignments in the Course
Students are expected to complete two major speaking assignments - an informative speech and a persuasive speech. Students will complete audience analysis surveys and outlines to accompany both of these speeches. Students will also complete a commemorative speech which will be delivered by manuscript.

Students have multiple opportunities to engage actively in class and present their thoughts orally prior to the completion of major speaking assignments via participation in in-class discussions and impromptu speaking assignments.
