| About the Course |
This course is designed to offer students theoretical
knowledge about the role of communication in the formation, escalation,
maintenance, dissolution and termination of close relationships. This
course is conducted as combination of lecture and discussion. This
course is writing-intensive.
I offer this course in the Fall and Spring of each year. |

| Content Students Can Expect to Learn |
- Theories and models of h0w relationships come together and apart
- About the warm fuzzy side of relationships including attraction,
flirting, courtship, commitment, intimacy and satisfaction.
- About the dark side of relationships including conflict,
deception, teasing, ostracism, and dissolution.

| Summary of Major Assignments in the Course |
Students will complete a total of four reading
response assignments in which students critique the content of readings
of their choice. Students are given an opportunity to reflect on the
readings in small group and class discussions. Students are required to
complete a major relationship analysis paper.
