As a researcher and
educator, I have the responsibility to maintain knowledge from the past,
to construct applicable knowledge in the present and to visualize trends
of emerging knowledge in the future. As Einstein succinctly puts it: ... knowledge must
continually be renewed by ceaseless effort, if it is not to be lost. It
resembles a statue of marble which stands in the desert and is
continually threatened with burial by the shifting sand. The hands of
service must ever be at work, in order that the marble continue to
lastingly shine in the sun. To these serving hands mine shall also
belong. (Einstein, On Education, 1950)
International and Comparative education forms the basis and framework
for my scholastic analysis. In addition to the study of international
and comparative education as a phenomenon itself, my primary research
and scholarship agenda is two- pronged. My research agenda focuses on (i)
the role of intellectual property (especially copyright law) as it relates
to institutions of higher education, (ii) and aspects of policy analysis
as it relates to international education in postsecondary institutions
of higher education. Occasionally, I have also written on
comparative education as it relates to the k-12 school setting .
Additionally, I have contributed to scholarly debates and analysis in
areas of school law as it relates to principles of negotiation in the
school setting.
