As a "Promise" to herself and her profession, the
PROMISE program arose from one nurse's sincere dedication and
heartfelt promise to offer guidance and support to those in her
profession. This is a mentorship program that is
intended for the senior-level nursing student with a maintenance
of a mentor-mentee relationship not only as a student but as
he/she transitions into the role of registered nurse and as the
student grows to become an established professional.
Just as strong as this nurse's love and
compassion is for fellow nursing students and nurses, East
Tennessee State University's College of Nursing has this same
desire and dedication for nursing students and nurses and is
dedicated and supportive of this mentorship endeavor. The
College of Nursing offers support and encouragement in
association with the PROMISE program as well offers alumni that
volunteer as mentors for the program.
The PROMISE program represents
a:
(P) professional (R) resource
(O) offering (M) mentoring (I), inspiration (S), security (E)
and education.
