Mr. Sheldon Davis, a Master's degree candidate in the ETSU Department of Technology & Geomatics was selected to receive the Society of Manufacturing Engineers' (SME) Platinum Poster Award at the SME Professional Development Conference held October, 15, 2005, in Memphis Tennessee. Mr. Davis won the $200 award with his poster entitled "Using Industrial Robots for Medical Test Applications." In the presentation, Mr. Davis showcased how ETSU Department of Technology and Geomatics' new rapid prototyping technologies can be used to quickly develop an optimized robotic gripper for handling test tubes.
