Fiesta (Listen)

They had a big fiesta down in Mexico,

And Danny told his papa he just had to go.

From the City of the Angels he took a lazy boat

That took him all the way to Acapulco.

Maria worked the nightshift at the hotel where he stayed,

And to his great surprise she soon became his private maid.

Her feather duster never left the spot where it was laid,

When Danny took her hand and reached up to pull the shade.

Fiesta—

Acapulco summer nights and young hearts beating free—

Fiesta—

See the fireworks show and all the lovers go dancing in the street.

All day long, drinking marguaritas in the sunshine on the beach—

For the two young lovers, paradise was just in reach.

Every evening they could be found moving to the beat.

Cool love on a summer night takes the edge off the heat.

She wanted to know all about America.

Danny loved her more than he could say.

She said she's like to go to California,

And he swore that soon he would be back to take her away.

Fiesta—

Acapulco summer nights and young hearts beating free—

Fiesta—

See the fireworks show and all the lovers go dancing in the street.

They had a big fiesta down in Mexico,

And Danny told his papa he just had to go.

From the City of the Angels he took a lazy boat

That took him all the way to Acapulco.

But Maria didn't work at the hotel anymore.

She'd left with an American man several days before.

Danny hung the no molesto sign upon his door,

And sat beside his window, watching lovers on the shore.

(and he could hear them singing)

Fiesta—

Acapulco summer nights and young hearts beating free—

Fiesta—

See the fireworks show and all the lovers go dancing in the street.
