The Residential Case Manager is responsible for the internal treatment and administrative needs of children in SteppenStone Youth Residential Treatment Continuum services. This will include: ensuring that the needs of each child within the program is met, ensuring communication is maintained efficiently and precisely regarding the care of each child and the individual treatment program for each resident is developed and implemented in a timely manner. The RCM will serve in collaboration with the child’s Residential Treatment Manager.
The responsibilities of the Residential Case Manager include but are not limited to the following:
-Ensure that each child receives the best, most appropriate level of care possible within the continuum of Counseling and Consultation Services.
-Be accessible to meet the needs of each child.
-Attend residential staff meetings to ensure adequate level of communication is maintained.
-Work collaboratively with all residential staff to maintain the highest quality of residential care.
-Maintain communication with residential direct care staff, residential, treatment managers, clinicians, and the child.
-Assist child’s residential treatment manager when necessary.
-Maintain utilization.
-Enable residents to flow evenly through the continuum of care as each resident meets their individual treatment goals.
-Provide adjunct psycho-educational services to children; i.e. skills group, orientation, etc.
-Spend quality time with each resident in order to be more effective with treatment planning.
-Make referrals to appropriate members of staff when specialized services are needed.
-Create and maintain case files and pertinent records on each resident.
-Work collaboratively with the child’s residential treatment manager and clinician to provide services to each resident in order to reunite them with family or other supportive resources.
-Help each resident achieve goals of their IPP.
-Assist and/or attend Child and Family Team Meetings when the child’s RTM is unable to attend in order to ensure communication with all parties involved; for a successful transition into the community.
-Schedule weekly meeting with the child’s RTM to discuss matters involving residential care, staff issues and other concerns of informative matters.
-Record all required face to face contacts each month by accessing the DCS website and completing the required documentation.
-Represent the administration in relationships with public agencies when necessary as directed by the Clinical Coordinator of SSYTS.
-Perform other duties as assigned.

-Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field from an accredited college.
-Minimum of two years of child care experience.
-Good oral and written communication.
-Computer skills.
