Saving Files from the Internet
 
Saving files from the Internet is a reasonably straight forward process involving a few mouse clicks. The basic process of saving data is as follows:
  1. Place the cursor directly over hotlink to the desired (i.e., "target") file.
  2. Windows: Right click the mouse to get the flyout menu.
        or
    Macintosh: Press and hold the mouse button until the menu pops up.
  3. Choose the appropriate file saving option with a click of the Left mouse button:
        Internet Explorer: Save Target As...
        Netscape: Save Link Target As...
        Opera: Save target as...
        FireFox: Save Link As...
  4. When prompted, change the directory (folder) and/or the filename as desired and save the file to your local computer.
