Robin Bade & Michael Parkin, Foundations of Macroeconomics, 6th ed

We will be using MyEconLab (MEL) from Pearson Education.  Pearson is the parent firm of Addison Wesley, the textbook publisher.  Enrollment in this on-line service is required – registration will be blocked after February 28.

You may purchase a textbook package from the ETSU bookstore which will include an access kit with the registration information.  Or, if you purchase a textbook without the access kit, you can directly enroll in MEL on the internet.

You will need the following information to enroll:

            For ECON 2210-002

            Course ID: hipple83448

1. To enroll in MyEconLab, go to http://www.pearsonmylabandmastering.com.  This will put you on the “Pearson MyLab/Mastering” homepage.

2. On the upper right, under Register, click “Student”.

3. You are now on page two.  Enter the Course ID from above.  Do not enter the wrong Course ID!

  Click “Continue”.

4. The next page will show three boxes.  The box at the right is Your Course.

For ECON 2210-002, the course name in the box is “ECON2210-002 14SP”

If you do not see the correct course name, do not continue.  Start over and try again!

5. The box at the left is Pearson Account.  If you already have a Pearson Account, then sign in and you will go directly to the Register page.

6. If you do not have a Pearson Account, then you will need to create one.  Click the Create box in the middle of the page.  You will be asked to provide an e-mail address, and pick a username and password for your Pearson Account.  If you pick a name that is already being used by another student somewhere in the world, you will be prompted to pick a username that has not been taken.  When you are through creating your Pearson Account, you will go to the Register page.

7. On the Register page, you have two choices.  If you have purchased a new textbook package with an access kit, click “access code” and follow instructions.  Be very careful when you enter your access code!

8. If you have purchased a textbook without the access kit, then you may use a Credit Card or PayPal to register.  Determine whether you want the more expensive option with the eText feature.

9. When you have finished your registration, leave the http://www.pearsonmylabandmastering.com website.

10. Now, re-enter http://www.pearsonmylabandmastering.com.  We want to see if your registration has been successful and if your computer has the appropriate software to run MyEconLab.

11. “Log in” with your username and password and you will go to your personal homepage.  Our class should appear as a link.  Click the link.  If you are in our class webpage, then all is well.  If you are not, then there may be problems!  Contact me.

12. In our class webpage, click “Assignments” on the upper left, and then click “Do Homework” to go to our class homework page.  The homework page has links to the homework sets for each chapter.  Select the “Get Started Homework” link, and work the various exercises to get acquainted with the different formats used in the MEL homework sets.

13. Final step, add http://www.pearsonmylabandmastering.com to your Microsoft Internet Explorer “Favorites” list.

14. Besides our MEL class webpage, you also need to add my regular internet website http://faculty.etsu.edu/hipples to your Favorites list.  We will also have a class webpage at this site.
