Summer Workshop:  July 7 - 9, 2008 (click to register)

This 3-day, all expenses paid, hands-on workshop will explore the Symbiosis project
from a number of different angles, including

  • Symbiosis I :  (IBMS 1100) The integration of Biology and Elementary Statistics

  • Symbiosis II: (IBMS 1200) The integration of Biology and Calculus I

  • IBMS:  Meeting General Education requirements in the TBR system

  • Laboratory Experiences:  Data Collection and Statistical Analysis

  • Symbiosis III and Beyond:  What comes next.

The Symbiosis Curriculum is module-based (see list of modules on the right), with each module consisting of approximately 9 lectures and 2 lab, with supporting supplementary and assessment materials.  The modular form allows the curriculum to scale to your courses needs -- as a full course, using only select modules, or even using select "mini-modules" extracted from the modules themselves.

This workshop introduces and explores all these possibilities, and your feedback will be both welcomed and solicited.  In fact, transportation, meals, and lodging are paid for by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute via a grant supporting the development and dissemination of the Symbiosis Project.
