How can I get information on portfolio requirements and how to set up my portfolio?
Portfolio Information Packets provide detailed information about portfolio contents and evaluation. A Portfolio Information Session is offered by every fall and spring semester. It is highly recommended that you attend a Portfolio Information Session. Notice of the information sessions will be posted in room 415 and announced by your special education instructors. Information session dates are also posted on the web. If you have questions about how to set up or what to include in your portfolio, please attend the information sessions. If you need additional assistance, you should make an appointment with your assigned advisor.
When are portfolios evaluated?
A Portfolio Evaluation Session will be scheduled each fall and spring semester. It is your responsibility to inquire about the evaluation date and make arrangements to turn in your portfolio for evaluation. Notice of the evaluation date will be posted in room 415, on the web, and announced by your special education instructors. Your advisor can also provide you with information on the evaluation session.
How often should I have my portfolio evaluated?
Full time students are expected to have their portfolio evaluated every fall and spring semester. Evaluation sessions are not scheduled during the summer. Part-time undergraduate students must submit a portfolio during the semesters they are enrolled in SPED 3300, 3400, 4700, and student teaching. Part-time graduate students are required to submit a portfolio four times during their program of studies, according to total credit hours completed. Please see “Evaluation Point” information at the top of the Portfolio Evaluation form.
