Extra Credit Assignments

English 2110 American Lit 1, O'Donnell, ETSU Spring 2019

last update: April 5, 2019

Points

Earn up to 5 points for each extra credit activity.  You can do as many of these activities as you like.  I will add the points to your point total when I am calculating your final grade, at the end of the semester.

Instructions

1. Attend an event, on campus at ETSU, that I have approved as eligible for extra credit.  Approved events will be announced in class, and listed here, below.  Some appear here on this assignment sheet.

2. Take notes during the event.  Write a memo of at least 300 words, to me and your classmates.  Describe the event -- who, where, when?  Connect the event to some text we've read, and/ or some issue we've discussed in class.

3. Turn in your memo to me within a week after the event.

4. Your memo will be scored from 1-5, based on: 1) the completeness and accuracy of your account of event; 2) the quality of thought in your discussion; 3) the general quality of your writing.
