GEORGE POOLE'S HOME PAGE
Dr. George Poole is Professor of Mathematics at East Tennessee State University where he served as chairman of the Mathematics Department from 1986 through 1999. He is happily teaching undergraduate and graduate students, working on the Worm Problem of Leo Moser, and continuing his investigation into Gaussian Elimination and Rook's Pivoting. However, his new-found love is teaching math to prospective K-6 elementary teachers, and providing in-service workshops to teachers in surrounding school districts. This past Summer 2009, George held his third Eastman/ETSU workshops for 3rd and 4th grade teachers of Johnson City, Kingsport, Washington, Sullivan and Hawkins counties of Tennessee. He will repeat that workshop during Summer 2010. George submitted a textbook manuscript on the mathematics education for elementary teachers during the summer of 2009 entitled, The Great Math Conspiracy: .
