Dr. Yavas holds a BA from
Robert College (Istanbul, Turkey), an MBA from the Florida
State University, an MBA and Ph.D. from Georgia State
University. He previously taught at the King Fahd
University of Petroleum and Minerals (Dhahran, Saudi
Arabia), Ball State University and Bogazici University
(Istanbul, Turkey).
A
member of Phi Kappa Phi, Beta Gamma Sigma and Golden Key
Scholastic Honorary organizations, Dr. Yavas is the
recipient of the 1980 Southwestern Marketing Association
Outstanding Paper Award, 1980 International Congress on
Applied Systems Research and Cybernetics Meritorious Paper
Award, 1983 and 1989 Academy of Marketing Science
Outstanding Paper Award, 1985 and 1987 University of
Petroleum and Minerals Distinguished Researcher Award,
1988 Systems Research Foundation Outstanding Scholarly
Contribution Award, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1995 and 2001
East Tennessee State University Faculty Excellence Award
for Research, 1992 Atlantic Marketing Association Best
Paper Award, 1993 East Tennessee State University Faculty
