A LARGER VIEW

A much larger field of view image of the NGC 4410 group is shown above. The grey scale is the Digitized Sky Survey optical image; the contours are the 21 cm HI map from the Very Large Array. The first contour corresponds to N(HI) = 3 X 1019; the contour interval is 6 X 1019 cm-2.

Four galaxies in the outer group were detected in HI (see Table 1), in addition to the galaxies in the inner group. The two optically-bright galaxies near the bottom of the image are NGC 4411 and NGC 4411B (west and east, respectively). These are foreground galaxies in the Virgo Cluster, and are not in the observed HI velocity range.
