Note for Precalculus Section 3.4

Difference between a TI-83 and TI-89 on rational functions:

In Section 3.4, #1, if you typed the equation in as
y1(x)=x(x-1)^2/(x+3)^3
on the TI-83+, 85, or 86, you got the appropriate graph.

y1(x) on TI-83    Graph of x(x-1)^2/(x+3)^3
However, if you typed the same thing on the TI-89, you got an error message.

On the TI-89, you'll need to insert a multiplication sign instead of using implied multiplication with parentheses. So to get the function to graph, you'll instead need to type
y1(x)=x*(x-1)^2/(x+3)^3
(where * means times).
