Team-Up for Fitness: Promotion Activities

Activity

Description

Challenge 1

Try as many raw fruits and vegetables as you can.  Then write up a taste analysis: rate the snacks for crunchiness, tastiness, sweetness, saltiness, color, portability, and vitamin content.  (Food supplied by facilitator!)

Challenge 2

Create energy posters or come up with another poster idea for presenting favorite healthy foods to promote healthy eating for students at your school.  Consider a creative presentation of your healthy meal ideas.

Challenge 3

Convey nutritional messages and increase awareness of healthy foods using school newspaper, website, or announcements generated by participants.

Challenge 4

Organize a championship event for the individual classes with relays, and MTV-esque events.

Challenge 5

Among friends, how can you be an influence for positive peer pressure?

Consider a one-two day analysis of a friend’s diet and physical fitness activities.  How can you partner with them to support an improved diet or increased physical fitness activities?  Or, how can you suggest modifications to their diet/fitness activities?

Challenge 6

Design and implement a family program for your family to ensure they get 5 fruits and vegetables a day: Change your family’s tastes.
