Behavior

There's a guy like me in every state and federal prison in America, I guess –

I'm the guy who can get it for you.

-- Red in Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption, from Stephen King's Different Seasons (Viking Press: 1982).

If ETSU doesn't have it, my staff and I will search the libraries of the world to get what you need for your research. Last year we processed over 9000 requests from University students, faculty, and staff. At the same time, we were getting over 10,000 requests from those libraries around the world for material we have here in Johnson City.

Range

When I am not crouched, vulture-like, over my keyboard searching for your journal articles, you might see my pleasant countenance at the Reference Desk, where I serve three-five hours each week, or in a library instruction session for your class. I can occasionally be found in a conference room for a Research and Development Committee meeting or other gathering.

Food Habits

While primarily subsisting on caffeine, all species in the order librarianus will consume chocolate.
