On December 17, 2003 we mark the centennial of the first controlled, powered, manned flight. The fallout of this accomplishment is obvious. The involvement of our local son is a source of pride. The impact was seen in part on July 21, 1969 when Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon. The full impact of our ability to reach to the sky and beyond will only be revealed in the years, decades, and centuries to come.
