Hey! Did you know that I was an undergraduate student in my late fifties?

Yes, it’s true. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Women’s Studies, with a minor in Appalachian Studies, from East Tennessee State University at the end of the fall 2018 semester.

I am in my early sixties now, and I am a graduate student in Appalachian Studies.

All right, now this project has
come as a welcome opportunity. With Daniel Westover, I edited a collection of essays about Gerard Manley Hopkins’ legacy with other poets. My own essay addresses Hopkins’ influence on contemporary
Appalachian
poets. This
project has
given me many
