The course is for 1 credit hour. It should ideally be taken for two semesters by every physics undergraduate major. Grading consists of attendence. Students begin the class with a grade of ``A''. Each student is allowed one missed seminar without penalty. Thereafter, each missed seminar results in a grade reduction. For example, the 2nd miss limits the grade to A-; the 3rd to B+; the 4th to B; and so on.
Occasionally, a seminar will be scheduled at a non-standard time to accommodate the needs of a speaker. Students are encouraged to attend these if they can, but if not, their absence will not affect their grade.
