This is the study guide for the Final Exam for Tarnoff's sections of CSCI 1710. Please see the University Registrar's exam schedule page for the correct time of the exam. (I think it's supposed to be 3:50 PM to 5:50 PM on Wednesday, December 10, 2003.) As for the place, it will be held in the same room we meet in for lecture.
The table below lists the topics that will be covered on the exam. Included for each topic is the reading (all web readings for this portion of the course) and in some cases additional resources you might find helpful for studying.
Topic | Assigned Reading | Additional Resources |
Frames | Chapter 9 | |
Forms and server-side scripts | Chapter 11 | |
JavaScript | Chapters 14 and 15 |
|
When you look at the old tests, be sure to check if the topic that a particular question addresses is included in the list of topics above. Do not panic when you see a question that doesn't make sense or if you think it pertains to an earlier test. Only the topics listed above will be on the test.
In addition, earlier CSCI 1710 courses did not go as deep into JavaScript as we have gone this semester. Expect to see questions on this test that address slightly more advanced issues in JavaScript than those from previous courses.
