Get to Know You —Week 1

 

Lesson Overview:

Introduce students to Team-Up for Fitness program objectives. Introduce students to facilitator. Orient students to the issues of adolescent overweight.

 

Lesson Objectives:

Establish rapport between students and with facilitator and orient students to the issues of adolescent overweight.

Team/group formation

 

After the presentation on Team-Up for Fitness and active listening, students will be divided into small groups/teams. Each team may be composed of 4 to 6 students. Depending on the program instructor’s consideration, the members of each team may be assigned by the instructor, or  randomly, Each week, a different student will lead the group. It will be determined by random drawing which team member will lead. The team leader will lead the team and coordinate the activities of the team in the lesson.  

 

Self-Introduction

 

Each student will briefly introduce himself/herself in their group. This introduction should include the information of what are his/her favorite colors, activities, favorite fruits, favorite dishes, and favorite restaurants.

 

 

Discussion /Questions & Answers 

Team members will discuss their thoughts on the issues and ideas proposed in “Teen Talk: Overweight” and clarify the objectives, plan, and activities of the Team-Up for Fitness.
