Fall 2010 Activity
Several attendees of the September 10 meeting.
The first meeting of the Tennessee Beta Chapter of Kappa Mu Epsilon was held on September 18, 2010. Topics discussed, include:
- Our current budget.
- Recent purchases (a copy of the DVD set The Story of Math and the pizza provided for the meeting).
- The departmental logo "contest."
- The problems posed in the summer 2010 issue of the Pentagon, along with hints.
- Presentation by KME coadvisor Dr. Bob of "Permutation Groups: Cycles, Transpositions, and Futurama."
KME members came and went during the meeting, with a total of about 12 attendees. Pizza and drinks were purchased with KME TN Beta funds from Marcos Pizza. The meeting was held from noon to about 2:00 in room 210 of Yoakley Hall. Assistance was generously provided by Eva Lynch of the Honors College.
