August 4 -6 Umoja - The Umoja/Unity Festival is the region's leading celebration of ethnic diversity and the universal love of life.  It was established to eliminate the barriers of race and cultures.
 
July 15 Global Fest 2006, 1 - 8 PM, Lowe's of Kingsport (parking lot)
     Cultural displays and music from around the world.  ETSU
     students, faculty and staff will offer health screenings and
     health information.  Global Fest is part of
     Kingsport Fun Fest 2006

Jonesborough Days- Themed villages will offer a variety of cultural experiences in historic Jonesborough Tennessee. 
  • The Children's Fiesta Village, presenting Hispanic foods, crafts and activities for children, is sponsored through a partnership with ETSU faculty and students, members of local Hispanic communities, and the Eastman Credit Union.  The organizing group is Puertas Abiertas a la Comunidad Hispana (Opening Doors to the Hispanic Communities). 
  • A Native American Hunting-Gathering Camp and Barnyard
  • Celtic Village  
  • Old fashioned Country Fair 

Main Street will be closed to traffic.  Trolleys will carry visitors to and from parking areas.
