Cave Paleontology Program

East Tennessee Museum of Natural History
East Tennessee State University

The primary focus of the Cave Paleontology Program at ETSU is to locate, assess, study, and conserve fossil remains from caves.  This program consists of cavers, students, land owners, and faculty that realize the importance of these irreplaceable resources.

While this program is focused in the southern Appalachians, it also manages projects in other parts of the country (particularly the Ozarks).

If you have questions about our program or need help in assessing fossils from caves please contact us.
