NET-AT Cooperative Description

The NET-AT Cooperative is a collaborative system that enables special educators and related service personnel to develop leadership skills and expertise in assistive technology assessment and to provide transdisciplinary services to students with disabilities who have a full range of assistive technology needs. 

Specific activities of the Cooperative are:

  • maintain Transdisciplinary Assessment Teams comprised of representatives from cooperating LEAs;
  • support the development of transdisciplinary assessment teams and assistive technology service delivery within each participating LEA;
  • provide assistance to LEAs in conducting Assistive Technology evaluations, and in developing appropriate technology related IEP goals and instructional modifications; 
  • assist with implementation and assessment of technology related IEP goals using a collaborative transdisciplinary approach; 
  • support the development of school system and building level assistive technology resources; 
  • provide professional development opportunities that address identified needs in assistive technology.
The NET-AT Cooperative is comprised of 3 LEAs in the First Tennessee region and the Special Education program at East Tennessee State University

The Cooperative is supported by the following key members:

  • The NET-AT Cooperative Leadership Team, composed of representatives from participating LEAs
  • Assistive Technology teams (AT teams) in each school system
  • The NET-AT Cooperative Director and a Technical Assistance Instructor
