· (August, 2010) Volunteer, St. Anne’s Catholic School Science and Discovery Center.  Service and maintenance of all school microscopy equipment.

·  (November 22, 2005) Invited speaker at Clinton Elementary School, Clinton, Tennessee.  Involved a 1-hour presentation to the entire 6th grade regarding careers in marine science.  Shared pictures with students, took questions, and distributed educational materials (posters, bookmarks, books, CDs, etc).

·   (May 21, 2002) UGA Science day for Madison County Schools.  Involved 30 minute mini-classes to fourth grade students on the cellular nature of life.  Topics included microbes, the cells of blood, and cheek epithelium.  Students were allowed to prepare a mount of their own cheek cells and took a picture home with them.

·  (March 30, 2001) Invited Scientist at Cleveland Road Elementary Science Day, Athens, Georgia.  This involved giving short (7-10) minute presentations about symbiosis, and microbial life.

·  (November 8, 2000) Invited Speaker at Lake City Middle School, Lake City, Tennessee.  Involved giving three, one-hour long presentations to middle school students ages 11-14 about the cellular nature of life, as well as the diversity of microbial life.
