Senan photo Senan Rasheed (Spring 2018-)

I have earned my undergraduate degree from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX.
I am investigating a new class of zinc photosensitizers and using those chromophores to sensitize photocatalytic carbon dioxide reduction to obtain fuels from carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide waste produced from burning fossil fuels can potentially be catalytically transformed into new sources of energy, making these fuels a more renewable energy option.  After graduation I plan to look for an industrial job in my field of study.

My name is Wasilat Adedolapo Adeoluwa, got my bachelors from Lagos State University, Lagos Nigeria in Biochemistry.

I am currently working on my chemistry Masters degree  (Inorganic concentration) working on synthesis of visible light absorbing chromium(III) photosensitizers.

After graduation I want to pursue another degree in psychology.

Khadijat photoAdegbemisola Khadijat Aregbe (Spring 2019-)

My name is Adegbemisola Khadijat Aregbe. I go by my middle name Khadijat. I am originally from Nigeria and have been in the United States for about 4 years now. I got my Bachelors from ETSU in Health Sciences with a concentration in Microbiology and a minor in Chemistry. I am currently working on a Masters in Chemistry with a concentration in Inorganic Chemistry.

Due to the increasing demand and importance for renewable sources of energy, I am working on synthesizing a ligand with metals that are abundant in nature such as chromium to make a chromophore. The newly developed chromium chromophore would be capable of sensitizing water oxidation photocatalysis. When I graduate I would like to get a Medical degree and a Doctorate degree (MD/PhD), doing both medical research and working closely with rural communities.

I obtained my BSc degree in Chemistry from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana.

I am currently working on the synthesis and characterization of a class of dipyrrin metal complexes to be used as photosensitizers for the photocatalytic reduction of carbon dioxide

After graduation, I would like to pursue a PhD program in Chemistry or related programs and then further into the area of research.

Undergraduate Students:

Sylvia Meredith (Fall 2019 - ) ETSU class of 2021

Alexis photoAlexis Harvey (Fall 2019 - )   ETSU class of 2020

I am a senior undergraduate chemistry major. I want to obtain a Ph.D. in Chemistry after my graduation in May 2020.

My research project includes synthesizing boron-dipyrrin complexes to use as a reference for the zinc-dipyrrin complexes.
