Welcome to the website of the 26th Midcontinent Paleobotanical Colloquium (MPC).

The Midcontinent Paleobotanical Colloquium (MPC) is held on a different campus each year, providing an informal forum for paleobotany students and professors to meet with others interested in fossil plants for social interaction and exchange of information and ideas. This year's meeting, sponsored by the Department of Biological Sciences and the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs Administration, will be held at the Carnegie Hotel, just across the East Tennessee State University Campus in Johnson City, Tennessee. Highlights of the three day events are summarized in the following:

• Friday, March 13: Carnegie Hotel
  • Open house (at ETSU Paleobotany Lab) and visit ETSU Arboretum
  • Welcome and registration
  • Evening reception
• Saturday, March 14th: Carnegie Hotel
  • Scientific session
  • Banquet
  • Dinner speaker
• Sunday, March 15th: Two field trips to be planned
  • Field Trip 1: Gray Fossil Site and the on-site natural history museum
  • Field Trip 2: Roan Mt. State Park
