Copies of the classnotes are on the internet in PDF format as given below. These notes and supplements have not been classroom tested (and so may have some typographical errors). They are based on a section of Astronomy (PS 215) I taught at Auburn University in summer 1990. This was when the Hubble Space Telescope was first activated (so the images are all pre-Hubble and, in general, the information is dated; Pluto is referred to as a "planet," for example).
