3) Get QUICKTIME^TM 5.0.2, a frequently encountered multi-media format on the Internet, now with Flash 5 and Cubic VR.  Some instructors make audio/slide shows and 3D panoramas with QuickTime Pro and you will need Quicktime to view them!  Click on the icon below... at the Quicktime site, you will find the free download form near the bottom left corner of the page.  You have to provide Quicktime with your e-mail address to get the free download.  Quicktime plays over 200 types of digital media (check the list)! 5)  Macromedia^TM Shockwave8^® Player and Macromedia^TM Flash5^® Player.  The bottom line is that you need these players to enjoy some of the state-of-the-art technologies used in website development.  These multimedia players allow you to interact with audio, animation and graphics in both multi-dimensional media presentations and, now, on many web pages!!!  Some sites "online students" must visit inevitably use Shockwave technology.  As more websites are using ShockWave & Flash in their website design, expect newer browser versions to have built-in Macromedia elements.  If you have not hit a website using Shock or FlashPlayer in their opening page, you will soon!  Click on the icons below to get Shockwave Player and Flash Player (when you get to the ShockWave site, select the "shockwave and flashplayer" option on the download page).  The Bull rates both players as 2 horns up and smokin'... but, hey, can't you make Flash files smaller... hmmm?  Those download times are be a killer!

PlayeR 1.5.  Great for listening to internet radio, this audiovisual player is a sleek and efficient bit-streamer... the number of steps in selecting and storing channels is reduced versus other players.  If you download the Yahoo! Player, you don't have to download Yahoo! Radio; the player does everything the radio does plus plays CD's and MP3's.  The Bull gives this player 2 horns up as the best internet radio player... too bad the first release stunk... now that it's the ultimate "easy to use" online radio player, all anyone remembers is how bad the first version was! (Dave and the Bull love the car radio interface but are waiting for the equalizer!!!)

10) Click on the icon below to get CRESCENDO 5.1.  You can load Crescendo Basic for free or get Crescendo Max for less than ten bucks!  Not bad for an excellent MIDI player that grabs MIDI's out of cyberspace at lightning speed and begins playing them faster than you can say Jack Robinson!  And good quality sound to boot!  You will have to download the Netscape compatible version with Netscape and the Internet Explorer compatible version with Internet Explorer.  Crescendo updates this player more often than most people wash their car... so be sure to check back frequently for updates! (Mac users should download version 2.0).  The Bull loves the quality and the price (your choice of cheap or free); so it's 2 horns up for Crescendo! (Crescendo 5.1 released Sept. 7th, 2000)
